Probate in Practice: Jurisdiction, Litigation and Crises

Join us for this upcoming CLE Program presented by the St. Louis County Bar Association in conjunction with the Probate Division of the St. Louis County Circuit Court. This four-hour afternoon CLE will explore a range of timely issues facing probate and family law practitioners, judges, and professionals. The program begins with an examination of third-party custody following In Re: ALP and SHP, followed by an overview of the law and practical considerations for trust modifications and other tools that can help resolve potentially contentious trust situations. The afternoon will also cover alternatives to full probate administration, including strategies that may simplify the process for families and practitioners. The program concludes with a multidisciplinary panel focused on resources available to families experiencing mental health crises.

Throughout the afternoon, experienced judges and practitioners will offer practical guidance, current legal insight, and real-world approaches to some of the most challenging issues encountered in probate, trust, custody, and mental health-related matters. Please note, this CLE goes beyond what may be considered traditional probate topics, with a look at new cases and statutes affecting family law and mental health law.
