Trivia Night
| On May 9, 2009, the St.
Louis County Bar Association held its annual trivia night at the
Crowne Plaza Hotel in Clayton. Over one hundred fifty participants
matched wits with fellow judges and lawyers in this test of
knowledge event. The Hon. Ellen Levy Siwak was the Master of
Ceremonies. Along with reading the questions and answers, she
shared several legal anecdotes and little known facts about our
St. Louis County Bar Judges.
With the money raised through the
50/50 raffle, auction items and "head or tails", the
County Bar Association donated over one thousand dollars to The
St. Louis Crisis Nursery. The St. Louis County Bar Association
would like to thank all who participated and we invite everyone to
join us next year when we do it all over again. |

St. Louis County Bar
Picnic
On
June 5th, the St. Louis County Bar Association held its Annual Picnic at
Shaw Park. There was worry that the event would have to be postponed due
to severe weather prior to the event. Event co-coordinator Tom Lang was
optimistic the picnic would be held as scheduled and he was correct. The
day of the picnic could not have been better as the temperature was 75
degrees and sunny. Along with complementary cooler bags, there was
plenty of good barbeque and beverages to go around.
The
snow cone stand was a hit at Paul R Rechenberg kept the cold treats
coming. Mat Eilerts ran the Karaoke machine which was a very big hit.
Brian Dunlop and J.B. Lasater brought down the house with there
renditions of Mustang Sally and Mac the Knife, respectively. Softball
was next as Judge Cohen and Judge Jamison competed for the Bar Plan
Softball Trophy. Judge Cohen's team was well ahead when Judge Jamieson
inspired his squad for a last inning rally that fell just short. The
time honored cork ball game was the last event of the day. By 5:30, the
revelers had eaten their last ribs, drank there last beer and headed out
to continue the weekend. Thanks to all who participated and we look
forward to seeing everyone at the picnic next year.
